I'Mu Ceremony

Hawaiian lūʻau    is a traditional Hawaiian party or feast that is usually accompanied by island-style  entertainment. It may feature food such as poi, kalua pig, poke, lomi salmon, opihi, haupia and alcohol, and music, dancing and entertainment such as  traditional Hawaiian music and hula.

We had read over 800 comments from all the major attractions here to bring you the highlights!

4* Paradise Cove Luau - "" Highly recommend this luau. Our family group of 13 consisted of people from 70 yrs old down to 3 yrs old. We all had a great time. Food was excellent and lots of it. Entertainment was top-notch. Couldn't get the grown-ups to volunteer but our 3 year old got on stage and did the hula! '''

5* Polynesian Cultural Center Luau - '' My husband and I went for the day. We stopped at their new Polynesian Football Hall of Fame and enjoyed that very much. The movie that shows Hawaii in detail was beautiful. The canal parade was fun. Stopping in all of the villages you could learn something about each Polynesian culture. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the...''

3* Germaine's Luau - '''Alika was the best escort! We enjoyed his stories and I am amazed he could remember the names of every cousin on the bus. The food was really good. We loved the roasted pig.

1*Diamond Head luau - ''' Upon arrival the parking was decent, had to use street parking but plenty was ...More . ''' Response from the owner (a month ago) Aloha Matthew, Thank you for the review, we appreciate your time and feedback. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your time with us, start to finish. We hope you will come again and look forward to entertaining you and your guests! Mahalo!

0*Star Light Luau - ''' First of all, the location is a bit wierd, being on the rooftop of a 4 store building, surrounding by high rises.Performance was very typical, nothing new or exciting. To be honest, quite boring for people who has been to a luau before. However, the food was very good. Lots of variety too.'''

Why I Care

The WOW factor is not about a big, nice costume and a greeting flower or shell Lei... that's cosmetics.

My WOW factor starts right from the first step to the entrance: dozens of professional performers warmly welcome you. Then when you look around: A breathtaking view from the edge of Mountain (KooKau) lies before you, look over to the ocean Hawaii Island and from distance view (Makapu'u Point) while the Sun slowly sets. Your Maitai welcome drink instantly appears without even time to stop and chuckle then... action! All around, your family camera can start rolling even before the show begins.  Get your phone or camera charged up for photos!

Our relationship with the Luau

I'm not an organizer, I'm an outsider. But I was drawn to the passion and excitement here! Welcoming performers continuing the tradition with lots of music, dance, crafts, tools or instruments, warrior body tatoos, or even fire dancing (which can burn normal people like you and me.) drew me to the action! Come witness a true Hawaiian Tradition!
